What's a Body?

from Training Myself To Not Exist by Joe Seul

/

about

I was surfing the web one night and found a nice way to virtualize an Ondes Martenot, so I tried to dial in a haunting/Kid A type of vibe. Continuing with the theme of being here yet also not, or, disappearing, in a way. For those times when your mind is in the foreground and the physical world becomes the ether. Let me know if you find a way to dream forever, without being a disappointment to humanity.

lyrics

I slipped on yesterday and fell into the year before
I’m lying on your couch, my mind is walking out the door
Tried to trip myself away but I kept coming back for more

What’s a body but a prison cell for souls?
Can you blame me when I feel like going home?
What’s a body but a box that’s built to hold
All the secrets and the thoughts that we’ve been sold
